The American Sheep Industry Association this week is traveling in South West Montana and Eastern Idaho for its 2018 summer research and wool tour.

Chase Adams is ASI's Director of Policy and Information and says this part of the Rocky Mountain West is very important for the U.S. Sheep Industry.

"For the American Sheep Industry, the western industry is tremendously important. Over half of our sheep are out here. They spend some time on federal lands so that brings up a whole range of topics of itself. But in this South West part of Montana and Eastern Idaho we have some of the best men and women raising outstanding genetics, outstanding wool and outstanding lamb."

Tour stops this year include Helle Livestock in Dillon, MT; the U.S. Sheep Experiment Station in Dubois, ID; and the Siddaway Ranch in Terreton, ID.
