Hi everybody it’s time for your Land and Livestock Report here on the Ag Information Network of the West-I’m Russell Nemetz.

On Wednesday, the House Agriculture Committee marked up its version of the new Farm Bill and it didn’t take long for industry reaction to come in.

The American Farm Bureau Federation says we’re one step closer to bringing certainty to families who face the toughest farm economy in more than a decade.

The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association says the bill protects the priorities of America’s cattle producers by funding a Foot and Mouth disease vaccine bank, EQIP along with research, foreign market development and market access programs.

The National Association of Wheat Growers says it’ll continue to work with Congress to make improvements and making sure a strong crop insurance program remains.

Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue says as the bill heads to the floor, he hopes the House recognizes the long-term certainty it provides for America’s farmers, just as it preserves nutrition programs for people who need help feeding themselves and their families. USDA stands ready to provide technical assistance as the bill progresses in the House and looks forward to working with members in the Senate as well.

That’s your Land and Livestock Report-I’m Russell Nemetz.
