With your Land and Livestock Report I'm Susan Allen. Terry O'Neel, President of the National Pork Board and Nebraska hog farmer says growth is the key word for the U.S. Swine industry especially when it comes to increased global demand. Interestingly one key emerging market is Mexico

O'Neel: We are excited. People are excited about growth. There is wonderful things going on on the breeding side of the business as far as sales. Exports are high we have had one of the largest marches we have ever had. Its' just one-word growth. We are in a growth mode that's where we are at.

And that is especially true when it comes to Mexico

O'Neel:We are having one our best marches ever as far as the month of March. Mexico is leading the way and we really hope we can maintain those great relationships we have with Mexico. As the Pork Board we just got back from Mexico, they love our product they are in an expansion mode regarding using our product at the retail level. We want to see that relationship continue and we are just crossing our fingers everything goes well with the renegotiation of NAFTA.Japan has been great as far as exports. China has helped us out tremendously anytime you have anything times 1.5 billion people it's going to offer you a lot of exports so the export market is really going to off us a way to move all this pork.
