First they villianized them, now they believe they could save the planet! They being cows. Guess when you’re an environmental scientist you get a free pass to change data and your opinion.  Cattle reside in some of cleanest regions of our nation and when compared to the emissions generated by the suburban commuter or Al Gore’s private jet fretting about methane from cow manure seems almost.... laughable. It’s  not a joke to the Copenhagen crowd or the dirty data folk that will go to any lengths make money from carbon credits. US. Secretary Tom Vilsack just announced an  "historic" agreement with the dairy industry to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from dairies twenty five percent by 2020. He is hoping to convince and I’ll substitute the word “pressure” Americas farmers into investing into costly anaerobic digesters that turn manure into electricity. What a waste of energy ...I mean the agreement . 77 percent of our nations dairy farms have fewer than 100 cows and only 2 percent of U.S. dairies now  utilize this costly technology. Who the heck is footing the bill? Not your average dairy farmer who can barely make ends meet? Me? Hey I just invested in GMC, cash for clunkers and first time home buyers. Hum but now that environmentalists  are counting on cows to save the planet maybe  red  meat will be en vogue again !
