Montana Miracle

It’s been a long week and the following story about a horse named Eddie who never gave up is a great way to end it. I’m Susan Allen stay tuned for a miracle in Montana. My family can relate to the miracle in Montana because our infamous German wire hair survived a harrowing ordeal in an irrigation tunnel not once, but twice, but a horse? Sixteen year old Joshua Kent borrowed Eddie the saddle horse for a fall ride. He was him across a trail above a dam when it gave way plunging the two down a steep bank into an irrigation canal. Josh tried to pull Eddie out but the mud and swirling waters were too much and he had to let Eddie go or drown. He watched as Eddie was swept into the Corbett Tunnel and would have been fully submerged entering the gates. Eddie was gone. Eddie’s owners Paul and Diane Watkins were distraught over the fate of their favorite Arabian but didn’t give up hope asking friends to pray for a miracle. Two days latter the district ditch rider happened on worn out Eddie three-quarters of a mile downstream  still in the canal ditch saddle and all. Eddie was nearly done in and had taken such a beating on his head that his owners said he   looked like he went  ten rounds with Mike Tyson. After antibiotics and lots of apples Eddie’s vet says he will be just fine. We all would do well to remember Eddie when we are swept away by bad times. Never give up and more importantly never forget to pray for a miracle. I’m Susan Allen
