Waters of the U.S.

Last week we heard from Idaho Congressman Mike Simpson who cosponsored legislation to require the Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to withdraw their rule changing the definition of "waters of the United States."  H.R. 1732. I am pleased to hear from Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-MO), another very agriculturally-based state, that she also supports the thinking of Congressman Simpson. "We have got to stop this WOTUS rule. It is a federal land grab like we have never seen. I call it the mother May I rule where a farmer or a landowner has to ask big government permission to even build a fence or to plant their crops or spray their crop protection products over a waterway or a ditch. It is just unbelievable."
