Farm leaders from across Idaho were recently in San Diego for the 96th annual convention for the American Farm Bureau Federation. The Idaho Farm Bureau Federation collected a record number of awards presented by AFBF with the big prize "Pinnacle Award winner for program and membership achievement for group 4 is... the Idaho Farm Bureau. Congratulations to President Frank Priestly and everyone here from Idaho." The Pinnacle Award is the highest level award and is given to the most outstanding state and each membership group. To receive The Pinnacle Award, a state must have achieved membership quota for the year and have the most Presidents Awards in its membership group. Group 4 includes California, Florida, Oklahoma and six other states with membership of 65,000 to 150,000. Idaho has a little over 72,000 members statewide. President Priestley says the award represents being the best. "What that boils down to is basically it is the best organization in terms of membership. The programs that we have, making the membership goals that we have each year, that's just what it's about. To me, it's just a huge pat on the back for the Idaho Farm Bureau for our staff, for our leadership, for our County leadership and those programs that we have through the state. We are thrilled." 83 Idaho Farm Bureau leaders attended the conference representing the state's largest general farm organization.
