An agricultural strategy based entirely on data. "The way we look at it is that agriculture needs to become a date of science. There are hundreds of decisions that agricultural producers half to make every year and these decisions are usually made on incomplete information or partial information. We want to deliver daily information to farmers so that they can make decisions in a way that will improve their productivity on the farms and improve yield, reduce costs and eventually affect the bottom line."

Those are the words of Emiliano Kargieman whose company, Satellogic, is in the process of launching a network of as many as 300 interconnected satellites that are dedicated to high resolution images of any point on Earth desired. Consider one satellite circling the earth taking pictures. It takes a long time to get all the way around the Earth so a particular spot on earth would only get images with long time periods in between. Now imagine 300 satellites in 300 different positions clicking away constantly. And by the way, all the satellites are talking to one another. The end result... almost instantaneous information on crops growing anywhere on earth.

"We will be able to give you over 4000 data points per acre several times per day. That will allow you to see things such as nitrogen uptake, see things like hydric stress and irrigation patterns and you can start to use this information to make day to day decisions on how to apply fertilizer."
