12/30/05 Woman of the Year, Mosman

Kathy Mosman, her husband and children live in North Idaho on a 16 hundred acre farm she describes as. MOSMAN "Totally a family farm. We don't hire outside help. My husband Dave and I do most everything together I guess and then our son Ray is 13 and he's just a tremendous help in driving tractor or combine or whatever we need. I guess we're always trying something new. We're trying to get away from the commodity crops just because we're not large enough to be able to make a high enough profit there. So we're trying to go with the smaller specialty markets and try new things. Lots of challenges but we enjoy that. No child of ours will come back to the farm without a college education. We feel very strongly about that because it will not only help them be better farmers but they have something to fall back on." Congratulations to Kathy Mosman and the other four women honored by the Idaho Farm Bureau this year. Voice of Idaho Agriculture Bill Scott
