Ranchers and members of the whole agricultural community are probably familiar with the Lowery Nettleton struggle over water rights on public lands. The Idaho Farm Bureau has put forward a great effort to ameliorate the legal costs.

Members of the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation which is Idaho's largest general farm organization continue their efforts to help two Owyhee County cattlemen stay on their ranches. Online contributions can now be made at IdahoFB.org. Idaho Farm Bureau Services Dir. Joel Benson explains: "In 2017 the Idaho Farm Bureau developed a new web site that allowed for us to do financial transactions for a host of different things like the Lowry Nettleton settlement. There are people who want to help. The website is www.Idahofb.org/donate. It gives people the opportunity to contribute." All contributions will go towards paying off the huge legal fees incurred in a 10 year court battle with the federal government over stock water rights on grazing lands. The ranchers won the case which really was a win for all people who use public lands, but the cost of their courage to endure the process was staggering. "There's a lot of places like gofindme and different things like that take a certain percentage off for themselves for having facilitated the effort but this is different. The Idaho Farm Bureau simply collects it and 100% will go towards this cause.
