Frank Muir and the Truck

I had a question for Frank Muir, President and CEO of the Idaho Potato Commission. "Frank to what do you attribute the great success of the Big Idaho Potato Truck? the Big Idaho Potato Truck has been by far the most successful promotion the IPC has ever launched. What started out as a one year celebration of the 75th anniversary of the IPC has now become part of pop culture, part of Americana. It has appeared in all the major parades across the country including Washington DC's Memorial day parade, the parade that precedes the Kentucky Derby, it has been in the NFL Hall of fame game parade. Recently it was in the Chicago St. Patrick's Day parade. It gets invited to every major Fourth of July parade in the country. We really do have the opportunity to take the potato anywhere in the country we want. We have been to all 48 states many many times. One of the things that we have found is that people just absolutely love the fact that they can tell their friends and neighbors that they have personally seen the Big Idaho Potato Truck. The other thing that is funny is that they will always remember when they did see the Big Idaho Potato Truck.
