University of Idaho’s College of Busines & Economics professor Dr.Terry Grieb’s introduction to market trading and funded trader seminar classes are attended by many students from U of I’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. "We get some really great students from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. What we try and do is have environments where students from across the colleges cross-pollinate. We want students to understand the breadth of what goes on in the markets across different asset categories. Whether that is stocks or commodities or bonds, we want them to understand all of those different components. We want them to see the big picture. How those capital markets work in the United States and across the globe. So from that perspective, having the College of Agriculture students participating in all of those parts of the curriculum is fantastic because we could be trading, for example, wheat contracts and they have information about what drives the price. What the supply and demand factors are. What the crop reports are and they can bring that information into the classroom in a way that teaches all of the students. Likewise, they are talking with other students who might be talking more about fixed income products or other students who are talking about currencies and equities. It's that cross pollination where the students all benefit from the knowledge base that they bring to the table.”
