01/18/05 Dairymen team up with QB Plummer

It's a safe bet that many Idaho youngsters have watched Jake Plummer throughout his National Football League career. No doubt, many kids have dreamed about meeting Jake. One lucky child will get to do just that as part of the "Take Jake to School," promotion. Plummer, quarterback for the NFL's Denver Broncos and is an Idaho native, will visit the school of the child whose entry is selected in the promotion sponsored by United Dairymen of Idaho. Plummer has teamed up with UDI to encourage mom's to purchase milk, cheese and yogurt as part of a healthy diet for their children. Wal-Mart has signed on to feature the promotion in its 11 Idaho stores with entry forms and contest details at the dairy case. The promotion runs through February 6th and the winner will be selected on Pro-Bowl Sunday, February 13th. Idaho Power is seeking bids for the construction of up to 200 megawatts of wind-powered generation to support the growing demand for electricity in the Idaho and Oregon service area. Companies or individuals interested in obtaining a copy of the Request for Proposals can download the document from the Idaho Power Web site. Notice of intent to bid must be submitted to Idaho Power no later than 4 p.m. February 10th. Voice of Idaho Agriculture Bill Scott
