With today's Fruit Grower Report, I'm Bob Larson. It's the premier educational and networking event for the Northwest wine industry and it's next week.

The Washington Wine Growers Association's 2019 Convention and Trade Show runs Monday, February 11th, thru Thursday at

the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick.

The Association's Katlyn Straub says everyone involved in the wine industry needs to be there because there will be a session designed for you ...

STRAUB ... "Including the 'State of the Industry,' which we have every year. This is Tuesday morning. The session starts to talk about local and it builds to an international look at supply and demand for the industry. That's become a prime topic and impacts every sale in Washington state and the Pacific Northwest."

Straub says the State of the Industry covers the wine business from every angle ...

STRAUB ... "It's a look into the marketplace and what the future holds and the speakers are incredible. Our chair of the Association, Patrick Rawn will be managing the session and the speakers include Mike Veseth, who is the popular wine economist, Wade Wolfe, the owner and winemaker at Thurston and Wolfe, Chris Bitter, who is the founder of Vintage Economics which puts out industry reports specific to Washington and the greater industry. We have Steve Fredricks coming from California. He's the president of Turrentine Brokerage, and then we have Jim Mortensen who is the new president and CEO at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates. The State of the Industry is a 'must be there' session and it's Tuesday morning at 8:30."
