With today's Fruit Grower Report, I'm Bob Larson. It's all about education. That's the attitude from the Washington Wine Industry Foundation that is offering over $30,000 in scholarships this year for undergraduate and post-graduate students studying viticulture, enology, or related subjects.

The Foundation's Katlyn Straub says it's all about supporting the research and students moving forward ...

STRAUB ... "And it's really incredible to witness the generosity of our industry. I mean, they really pull out all the stops when it comes to funding, education and just really supporting those cutting-edge researchers."

She says the Foundation has been at this for nearly twenty years ...

STRAUB ... "Since 2002, the Foundation has awarded over $263-thousand-dollars to over 180 students for education in the grape and wine industry and I would say we feel very confident that the industry is in good hands."

Straub says if you're interested ...

STRAUB ... "So, our application deadline Friday, March 29th this year. So, applications are due to our office by that date and if there's any questions they can feel free to give us a call. But, the applications are online. They can go to our website. It's washingtonwinefoundation.org and there's a scholarship tab. All the information is there about the scholarships, the background, eligibility, criteria and more. So, visit our website and download the application there."

Listen tomorrow when we talk more about the three different scholarship wine industry types, who is eligible, and more on how to apply.
