Tree Fruit Notes

Tree Fruit Notes. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report.

Here's a brief collection of notes that members of tree fruit community might find useful.

The 111th Annual Meeting & NW Hort Expo was held in December at the Yakima Convention Center and Sundome. WSTFA is always looking at ways to improve each year. They've put together a survey to hear your feedback on how they can improve the convention. The brief survey will only take a few minutes of your time.

The WSDA announced that Jason Ferrante has been selected and accepted the position of Assistant Director of the Commodity Inspection Division at the Washington State Department of Agriculture. The selection of Jason was the result of an intensive recruitment process including feedback from stakeholders and team members within the agency. As the Grain Inspection Program Manager, Jason brings to the position a broad knowledge of the division and the agricultural community. He also has demonstrated his skills in leadership and working with a variety of interest groups on challenging issues.

12th Annual Ag Safety Day: "Production to Processing" this year will offer many original topics in both English and Spanish, and some classes qualify for WSDA Pesticide Recertification Credits! Attendees will pre-select your desired classes when you register online. Ag Safety Day will be at the Wenatchee Convention Center on February 24, 2016.

That's today's Fruit Grower Report. I'm Greg Martin on the Ag Information Network of the West.
