06/14/05 The Stinger on tour

It's taken a little longer than expected. But finally the Aturas Stinger is touring Washington State for the next three weeks. The Australian based thermal weed elimination machine has generated a buzz among Northwest fruit and wine grape growers, especially those into organic growing. ZEHNDER: We've had a lot of interest in the machine. Several of us in organizing this & demos up here & we've had a large, large volume of people interested in the machine. Grandview's Claude Zehnder of the Propane Education Research Council says demonstrations in the Yakima area this week will be followed by stops between June 22 30th in the Walla Walla area and St. Michelle Winery near Patterson, and demos June 30th and July 1st in the Tri-Cities sponsored by Stemilt. Zehnder says the ultimate goal of the tour is making the Stinger more commercially accessible in the States. ZEHNDER: Hopefully, we can find some people like Vine-Tech Equipment who will be interested in selling the machine both here in the Northwest and in other states, where we can bring the machine over and actually have distribution of it here in the United States. More information on demonstration locations, or on the Stinger itself, can be obtained by calling Michellle Hummel at 1-888-235-4332.
