Now that Trade deal negotiators have wrapped up the USMCA, Legislators are looking more closely at the deal.

Of particular interest to Canadian analysts is Section 32, a clause that was adamantly demanded by American negotiators.

Section 32 would force Mexico and Canada to disclose details of any Foreign Trade talks.

Ron Bonnet with the Canadian Federation of Agriculture says Section 32 could impede Canada's economic development strategy.

Section 32 says any such Trade Deal displeasing Americans, would allow the US to cancel the new USMCA. Section 32 has triggered a backlash in Canada.

Critics believe that clause is aimed specifically at blocking any trade deal efforts by Canada or Mexico, with China.
