U.S. Custom Harvesters, is an association of professional custom harvesters serving the needs of the American farmer.

The organization serves as a link between the harvesters and the farmers and businesses, as well as the State and Federal Government.

Rana Zeller of U.S. Custom Harvesters talks about the many months and long hours her crews work during harvest across the country, and some of the ways these crews are supported during this time.

"When were working full-time or get about 14 to 15 hours in a day or more traveling down the road we use all of our daylight. A lot of times you get rain and we sat in the same place for a month and they just get bored they get tired they get sick of sitting and doing nothing but at times it's a hurry-up-and-wait game. We need to try to get them go places and get them out of the campers is huge day and take him out to eat and just keep in communication with him making sure they're okay making sure they can get in contact with their families if they need to go home trying to provide for transportation to get there or whatever it is."

She says they typically put in a 12 to 14 hour day... and praised the farm operators for helping work with them.
