Hi everybody it's time for your Wednesday Agri Beef Minute here on the Ag Information Network of the West-I'm Russell Nemetz.

Synchronization is a very important tool in today's beef cattle industry that producers can take advantage of. With us again is Agri Beef's Double R Ranch Livestock Program Assistant Garrett Tschida.

"Synchronization of the cowherd is a tool that can be used by lots of ranchers in various situations. The benefits often outweigh the negatives. Synchronization allows you to group cattle together closer during breeding season. It does maybe require a few more bulls in the battery but a lot of this can be seen as a benefit because you can get your cattle bred before turnout into a co-mingling pasture for summer range. It also helps during calving time because you know when the calves are going to come so you can concentrate labor resources during that time. From a marketing standpoint, it helps to produce a uniform set of calves on sale day."
