Here is USDA Grain and Livestock Reporter Dillan Howe with the Columbia Basin Hay report from last week.

Howe: "Tons totaled 3,630 Compared to last week, new crop alfalfa steady to $10 higher. The rain throughout the region kept delaying the cutting of hay. Demand was moderate with good. All prices are per $ per ton FOB the farm or ranch unless other wise stated. Premium large squares of Alfalfa traded from $160 per ton, with alfalfa for export at $160 as well. Premium alfalfa-Timothy mix in large squares traded from $260 per ton."

In Idaho compared to the previous week, a trend was not well established. Trade was extremely limited as producers are preparing for their first cutting. Large squares of premium of Teff sold for $150 per ton.

In Oregon prices trended generally steady in an extremely limited test compared to the previous week's prices. In Central Oregon Counties, large squares of alfalfa rated good sold for $120 per ton. Good to premium small squares of orchard grass for the retail/stable market sol for $225. In Lake County large squares of supreme rated alfalfa sold for $180 per ton, good to premium rated large squares of alfalfa sold for $140 per ton. In Klamath Basin mid-squares of alfalfa rated good to premium sold for $150 per ton. Eastern Oregon and Harney County had no new sales confirmed.
