Sustainable Cool Terra Helps Improve Soil Health

Agriculture technology company Cool Planet has closed on $19.3 million in Series A financing and note conversion to commercialize its Cool Terra and Cool Fauna engineered biocarbon products. Cool Planet is focused on developing products that are simultaneously profitable as well as sustainable.Cool Planet President and CEO Jim Loar shares why this new technology is so exciting.

Loar: "When we talk about sustainability and society's demands on agriculture really growing demand to become more sustainable is typically there is a loss of convenience or even a cost to a farmer to be more quote 'sustainable'. The thing I like about Cool Terra is that it is an amendment that goes into the soil that improves soil health but increases the productivity of the soil so you get a return on investment as a grower. So we like to think of it in terms of Cool Terra brings you profitability as a grower but also sustainability as a grower. Long term you are investing in the quality of your soil — which is your most important asset if you are a farmer or a grower. So there is a great alignment there between profitability and sustainability and quite honest there aren't that many technologies with that great alignment."

In our regions, Cool Terra is working with Simplot and Helena Chemical Company to distribute Cool Terra to farmers. To learn more go to coolterra.com.
