Colorado Farm Mom Named as One of Farm Mom of the Year Regional Finalists

With Mother’s Day fast approaching, Monsanto has announced its regional Farm Mom of the Year Winners and Colorado’s Nikki Weathers of Yuma was selected as the Southwest Region’s winner. Weathers and her husband Nathan have a 3,000 farm with corn, popcorn and recently added beef cattle to their operation. They also have a corn maize and pumpkin patch each fall. Weathers shares more about their agritourism program.

Weathers: “We brig school kids out. We have an ag literacy program in the shop and they get to eat lunch in the shop like a real farmer and then we get to take them out to the corn maize and they get to pick out their own pumpkin. They can learn the real hands-on of what is actually going on at a farm.”

She is the Chair of the Colorado Farm Bureau’s Women’s Leadership Committee. They also package their own popcorn to sell and hand out to local school children.

Help this outstanding Farm Mom become the National Farm Mom of the year.
