Farm Mom of the Year

Farm Mom of the Year

Last week the 2015 regional winners of the annual Farm Mom of the Year were announced. The Northwest region’s winner is Shelly Boshart Davis from Albany, Oregon. Shelly’s nomination mentioned all of the work she has done on trying to bring attention to the Northwest Port crisis. Personally I spoke with Shelly on numerous occasion throughout the slowdown. Her emphasis was always on how the crisis was affecting farmers, ranchers shippers as well as truckers. She is a strong and vocal agvocate. Boshart Davis shares
Davis: “I didn’t know what I was even nominated. So when I got the call, I was quite surprised first and had to ask the women what it was. So once I found out what it was, I was surprised and pretty shocked and ended up being incredibly honored to receive this.”
So now, it is up to you to help Shelly win so she can represent our region and the country in the Farm Mom of the Year contest. She continues with how to vote
Davis: “Go to americasfarmers.com and there are five women. You can read all of our bios. You can vote for the one you’d like to vote for. Of course I want you to vote for me. I’d love to be able to bring more knowledge and understanding of Oregon’s agriculture specifically but also the Northwest and how different it is from the rest of the nation.”
So, what are you waiting for — go to americasfarmers.com and vote for Shelly Boshart Davis. You can vote once a day per email address. Let’s help her win the national title
