Daniel Chin I am the USPB

Daniel Chin and his family grow table stock potatoes and approximately 80 percent of their production is organic. Located on the California-Oregon border his family’s production operation is Chin Family Farms and the packing, shipping marketing arm is Wong Potatoes, Inc.. I asked Chin what he appreciated about the United States Potato Board and the resources it provides to the industry.
He shares that one of the things that impress him the most is the USPB’s work in expanding into new global markets and he has experienced it first-hand.
Chin: “The potato board does a great job of working on different export markets and increasing the market share for U.S. potato growers. We were with the potato board booth - we were in Viatinam — its a brand new market. It just opened ups couple of years ago. We were looking to sell our fresh potatoes there. They had a nice display and did some cooking. They actually did more than just fresh sector — they had a deny sector, a frozen potato sector and then we did the more fresh sector.”
He says that his family’s businesses have learned a lot about consumers from the USPB research and that has made a difference in the way they market their fresh potatoes.
Chin: “I am Daniel Chin and I am USPB.”
