Colorado Farm Bureau Foundation sends $20K Aid

Colorado's neighbors in Nebraska will soon receive a $20,000 donation from the Colorado Farm Bureau Foundation to help with disaster relief after devastating storms and flooding hit the state in March.

Don Shawcroft, President of the Colorado Farm Bureau says in a statement that , "While Colorado braced for impact from the 'Bomb Cyclone,' it was really our friends in Nebraska that suffered massive damage." "Hearing of ranchers unable to get to their cattle, flooded fields, and demolished silos, sprinklers, and barns was truly heartbreaking."

Shawn Martini VP of Advocacy at the CFB earlier told Colorado Ag Today that the Foundation is able to give because of the kindness of Colorado producers.

"The amount that we can forward on to Nebraska once were done, really is a result of how deep people reach into their pockets to donate and provide relief."

The $20,000 donation will go to the Nebraska Farm Bureau's Disaster Relief Fund where 100 percent of the donations will be distributed to Nebraska farmers, ranchers, and rural communities affected by the disaster.

This action marks the first time the CFB Foundation has activated its Relief Fund for a disaster that occurred outside the state of Colorado. The Colorado Farm Bureau Foundation will continue to accept donations to add to this fund. You can help by going online at
