Colorado Proud April Feature is Leg of Lamb

For many Americans, lamb is synonymous with the spring celebrations of Easter and Passover.

And this month the Colorado Department of Agriculture is highlighting lamb as it's Colorado Proud commodity of the month.

"Spring has sprung and it's a perfect time for Colorado lamb. Our state is well known around the world for our high quality lamb and we rank third in the nation for sheep and lamb production. We have about 445-thousand head of sheep in Colorado."

That is Wendy Lee White at the Colorado Department of Agriculture.

Lamb is also an good source of protein, Vitamin B-12, niacin, zinc and a source of iron.
