Colorado's Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association says it will gather its members and sponsors for a fifth annual conference in Denver.

Executive Director Marilyn Bay Drake tells Colorado Ag Today the agenda is purposefully varied to attract new as well as established members.

"So we're doing everything from farm succession planning and the small scale vegetable systems to looking at the specialty crop block grant process so folks can go or research maybe that can help me. We're certainly going to get into water and we're talking about health issues that are specific to farming and some drip irrigation stuff.

We have kind of left a section of time and I think we're going to be focusing on water the outlook upcoming as that's been a big issue for folks."

Producers who may be wondering about blockchain and its role in agriculture can learn more in session on day one and those looking for information on emerging wholesale marketing opportunities in Colorado can do that on the second day.

The fifth annual conference, Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 25-26, 2019 at the Renaissance Denver Stapleton Hotel.

The final day of the conference includes a tech pitch for innovators in agriculture. We'll have more on the Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association assisting innovators in another report.
