Southeast Colorado Areas

Oat/Rye Hay

Dairy and feeder cattle hay markets are slow. Below average water available for irrigation this year, along with extreme drought conditions on the western half of the state have impacted hay prices with upward pressure. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor the D-0 category abnormally dry was extended to include all of Morgan county and parts of Weld and Washington counties.
