Nothing says summer like a visit to the farmers market.

Colorado farmers are once again bringing their fresh produce and locally made foods to farmers markets around the state.

The Colorado Department of Agriculture's Wendy White tells Colorado Ag Today they have been busy compiling a long list of markets and more opportunities for the rest of us to take home the freshest foods available.

"We're really excited that the farmers markets are starting to open. We have the Colorado Farmers Market list on our website are www.Coloradoproud.org.

Toward the end of the month we'll have our 2018 Farm Fresh Directory available."

Visit coloradoproud.org to find a farmers' market directory organized by day of the week, crop calendars, produce-picking tips, family activities and much more.

Another good resource is the Colorado Farmers Market Association.

And Colorado Fresh Markets are another resource.

Fresh markets are full with fresh flowers, bedding plants, spring greens, & delicious food.

Fruit & veggies start to sprout up in June and more arrives each week.

The height of the growing season of course July – October where Colorado produce is in abundance.
