Southeast Colorado Areas Alfalfa

Mid Squares: Premium 220.00.

Rounds: Fair 160.00.

Grass

Small Squares: Premium 280.00 (7.75 per bale).

San Luis Valley Area Alfalfa

Large Squares: Supreme 200.00.

According to the U.S Drought Monitor Summary 79.51 percent of the state falls drought categories from abnormally dry to exceptional drought.

That's compared to 18.74 percent a year ago. Of those percentages, 51. percent is listed in severe to exceptional drought levels.

Meanwhile, the Colorado Department of Agriculture is still accepting listings for the 2018 Colorado Hay Directory. The annual publication connects hay producers with buyers.

Wendy White, marketing specialist for the Colorado Department of Agriculture says every year they receive calls from buyers across the country looking for Colorado hay. With the current drought conditions, this directory may be even more important for livestock owners this year.

The listing fee is $25, and the deadline is June 15, 2018. Forms are available at Colorado State University Extension offices or by contacting the Colorado Department of Agriculture.
