What issues keep Colorado's Agriculture producers up at night? A survey by the Department of Agriculture conducted early this year has found low prices, high costs are the most worrisome. Too little water and too many regulations, immigration policy and lack of workers also top the list.

Colorado Agriculture Department's Tom Lipetzky says producers say they don't want more regulations but do want the government's help in some important areas.

"40 percent of our producers viewing that the industry is worse off today than it was a year ago is very troubling."

Lipetzky says he is gratified that producers who interact with the Department of Ag report a 95 percent favorable rating in customer satisfaction.

The CDA's online survey about attitudes and perceptions of ag industry leaders takes place every two years. The complete findings can be seen at Department of Ag's website.
