Celebrating the new year in chilly weather should include some delicious warming recipes. This month the Colorado Department of Ag suggests checking out it’s recipe for Chicken Wild Rice Soup.
That combines a lot of yummy ingredients to make you family warm.
Wendi White at the Department of Ag says this is great recipe because it include ingredients grown and raised locally.
White says the recipe from Chef Jason Morse can be found at www.coloradoagriculture.com
The website has a new tip sheet on safe food handling and storage.
White reminds home cooks to separate raw meat, poultry, seafood, and eggs from other foods in your grocery shopping cart, grocery bags, and refrigerator.
Use one cutting board for fresh produce and a separate one for raw meat, poultry, and seafood.
