Framing the new Farm Bill will be on the agenda as the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union meets at its annual convention in Denver.

The Convention November 14th-19th will include a series of discussions on how farmers and ranchers from Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico can help congress come up with the best possible new bill for 2018.

Union Spokesman Bob Kjelland says the group knows Farm Bill funding will be tight so it's imperative the rocky mountain community is part of the discussion.

"Anything that comes out of the convention as far as policy or special orders relating to the Farm Bill or relating to federal policy that impacts farmers, ranchers, rural communities, we will make sure that that information is forwarded to the staffs and the congressional representatives."

RMFU President Dale McCall will open the convention Friday, later Roger Johnson, President of the National Farmers Union will deliver remarks and hear from local farmers and ranchers.
