Helping Those Affected by Northeast CO Wildfire

The fires that broke out in Logan and Philips Counties as of Tuesday evening had burned approximately 30,000 acres — a significant loss of pasture as well as loss of property. Colorado Farm Bureau Vice President of Advocacy Shawn Martini shares more about the Farm Bureau's Foundation which will help those devastated by the fire

Martini: "Colorado Farm Bureau though our Foundation has activated our Disaster Relief Fund. The Relief Fund takes in monies and delivers 100 percent of those monies back out to the producers and those folks in the rural communities who are impacted by these disasters. So 100 percent of the donations we take in, in support of the folks impacted by the Northeast Colorado fire will go back out to those folks who are in most in need. And the easy way for people to do that is to go our website coloradofarmbureau.com. We've got a big banner across the front that makes it easy to find the page to donate. You can donate as little or as much as possible. Anything you can do to help some of these folks in Northeast Colorado recover is much appreciated and again 100 percent of that will go back out to those impacted by the disaster."

And with a livestock focus, the Colorado Cattlemen's Association and the Northeast Colorado Cattlemen Association are looking to help with the immediate need for hay, feed and fencing supplies as well as individuals willing to provide trucking for the farmers and ranchers affected by the wildfires.
