Big Game Forever

All across the West, no matter where you go, there's one topic that seems to be fresh on everyone's mind....this long lasting winter. Some of the old timers are saying they haven't seen a winter like this in decades. Just last week one small county in Idaho had over 36 inches of snowfall in just 48 hrs. With all this snow, our big game herds are struggling now, more than ever. I recently stumbled upon Big Game Forever, a company that has shifted their efforts in helping big game survive these harsh conditions.

Denny "I'm Denny Behrens, the state coordinator for Big Game Forever for Colorado and we're down here in the Gunnison Basin today it's January 14th. We're taking a look to see how the herds are doing in this area, they've have a tremendous amount of snow already in this area and it has rained and then froze on top of the snow and we're getting more snow. We're going to be having more snows and we're looking at possibly pushing the division to be doing a feeding program. We've been talking with Pat Dorsey from the Southwest region, and they are in the process of gearing up to feed. There is a group of dedicated sportsmen in Gunnison, who have put together an online donation site to help raise money to purchase feed for these animals. Please volunteer, send $5, $10, $15, $20 to help with the program."
