Colorado Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association Conference Happens Feb. 21st

The Colorado Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association full-day conference will be happening at Denver's Renaissance Hotel on Tuesday, Feb. 21st. With outstanding speakers as well as the opportunity for education and network, this is a must-attend event for those in the produce industry. More than 300 people, including produce buyers and exhibitors are expected to attend.

Executive Director Marilyn Bay Drake provides more details

Bay Drake: "We're very excited about our keynote speaker Pamela Reimenschneider, Editor of the Produce Retailer and very involved with finding out why people buy the produce they buy. We're also going to be focusing on the food safety part of it. Not only with the full training the day before the conference, but Dr. Bonnie Fernandez-Fenaroli is going to talk about the Center for Produce Safety and some of the research and resources that is available there for growers. We will have our annual meeting and then we roll into breakout sessions. We will have roundtable discussions on a lot of different items: research, more with produce safety, Department of Colorado Ag opportunities; just a lot of different things for different folks."

The day prior to the conference there will be a full-day Produce Safety Rule Training. Growers completing this training will meet the FDA requirement that one person from each produce farm not exempt from FSMA must complete this training.
