Colorado Ag Photo Contest

Colorado Ag Photo Contest

The 19th annual "Colorado...it's AgriCultural" photography contest is seeking entries as a way to celebrate the state's agricultural heritage. Colorado Department of Agriculture Marketing Specialist Wendy White shares more details about the competition.

White: "It's the 19th annual Colorado ... It's AgriCultural Photography contest and it is really a way that we can showcase the spirit of Colorado Agriculture through pictures. So for 19 years we have been collecting entries and honoring those that really depict and showcase Colorado agriculture all across the state."

Entries must be submitted to the Colorado Department of Agriculture via e-mail with an official entry form by December 31, 2016. All photographs must be taken in the 2016 calendar year and must relate to Colorado agriculture in some way. White continues

White: "We display them at Northeastern Jr. College and we also have them on our website at coloradoagriculture.com They've been on display before at the Colorado State fair. The Department of Ag and other ag organizations also utilize the photos in brochures and presentations and other methods of sharing information about agriculture with the public. So they get used quite extensively throughout the year. Each photographer can submit up to three photos and we have complete rules and the entry form online at coloradoagriculture.com."

The six subject areas include: Colorado cuisine, crops, livestock, people, open professional and wildlife in agriculture. Amateur and professional photographers are encouraged to enter, however, professionals may only enter agriculture-related photographs in the "open professional" category.
