From the USDA Market News Office in Greeley here is Heath Dewey with last week's state hay report

Dewey: "Trade light on light demand. Growers resisting current offers on new crop dairy quality hay. Grass hay movement steady mostly on small square packages. The NASS Colorado Crop progress and condition Report for the week ending July 10th, 2016 has first cutting alfalfa at 97 percent and second cutting at 30 percent complete. Pasture and rangeland conditions percentages were 3 percent very poor, 4 percent poor, 19 percent fair, 61 percent good and 13 percent excellent. In the Northeast Colorado areas fair alfalfa large squares trades were $90 FOB. Supreme alfalfa small squares were $185 FOB or $6 per bale. Premium grass small square trades were $210 per ton FOB or $6 per bale. In the Southeast Colorado areas, premium small squares alfalfa trades were $170 to $180 per ton FOB or $6 per bale. Premium grass small square trades were $155 to $185 FOB or $5 to $6 per bale. In San Luis Valley areas, supreme large square alfalfa trades were $155 FOB and old crop good alfalfa large squares were $120 FOB. There were no reported quotes available for any grade of hay in the Southwest or mountains of northwest Colorado."
