Colorado Intern For Ask the Farmer

Northeastern Colorado native Kyndal Reitzenstein from Kursey and grew up on a cattle operation raising primarily Angus cattle while also showing both cattle and pigs nationwide. Reitzenstein is a senior at Oklahoma State University and has been a member of the National Champion Meat Animal Evaluation Team and the Reserve National Champion Livestock Judging Team.

This summer she is the Communications Intern for Ask The Farmer. She shares more about her role

Reitzenstein: "Basically I have to schedule a bunch of graphics and posts through Facebook and Twitter. We have a group of farmers that help us by giving insights and blogposts and help consumers and people that don't know much about agriculture that have questions — they help us answer those. I help manage all the volunteers and keep them all in line and get stories from them to post on social media."

She continues with what she is enjoying most about her internship

Reitzenstein: "I like getting the experience through all the different social media platforms like Tweetdeck that I haven't messed with before. It's been a really great learning experience getting to work with them and to see how professional they are in their branding and how they schedule all their posts. It's really been a great learning experience for me."

Ask The Farmer answers consumers questions about agriculture through a blog, Facebook and Twitter and is coordinated by the Ag Chat Foundation.
