"Currently Idaho has 67 listed noxious weeds." Roger Batt coordinates the Idaho weed awareness campaign. Created in 2001 to raise public awareness, helping the people of Idaho understand the economic and environmental impacts of invasive weeds. Their goal is to help Idahoans develop and participate in invasive weed eradication and management programs. Also to assist in preventing the spread of invasive weeds. The campaign is only one of many tools Idaho uses to battle noxious weeds. "We have a Department of Agriculture, with a noxious weed person with a statewide contact and he focuses on the strategic plan for the weed eradication program, we have an entity like the Idaho weed awareness campaign for instance, that does education outreach, we have Idaho weed control Association which is representative of all of the weed control people in the state of Idaho, we have 42 County weed superintendents who are in charge of the 44 counties. These weed departments are entities where people can go to for technical expertise and for them to learn more about noxious weed ID and how to control and manage these species.
